Yes, it is true. The comic book translated from French to come to the United States, is becoming a movie. They're currently in production on a LIVE ACTION Asterix and Obelix at the Olympics. This isn't the first they've done either.
The Asterix and Obelix books are a fun, all-age read that are also educational. Many parents who home-school use these comcs as teaching aids.
The problem will be, of course, that this film won't be in English. It's being filmed in Spain and the previous two were in French. I'm not sure, but I'm suspecting this third will be in French too.
