What you've Been Waiting For

It's that time of the week already. Time to find out where your comics have been, or at least how long it has taken for them to show up on the shelves of your local comic shop. As always, keep in mind that they are not all late. Some are, but others just go longer than 4 weeks between issues.

A handful of comics had the last issue come out 3/7/07 - which was my cutoff point this week. They are: Manhunter #30 (DC Comics, solicited in-store date 4/4); Mighty Avengers #2 (Marvel - this is actually on-time but went 6 weeks between issues); Red Sonja #21 (D. E. Solicited in January's previews) and Squadron Supreme Hyperion vs Nighthawk #4 (Marvel - on-time but 6 weeks between issues).

Forgotten Realms Streams of Silver #2 (Devil's Due) had its last issue come out 2/14. This WAS solicited in February, so it might actually be on-time.

Ex Machina #27 had its last issue come out 1/31/07. Believe it or not, it looks like this is on-time. But WOW ! That's quite a hefty gap in between issues. Although that is typical for this comic, published by DC's Wildstorm arm.

And the latest of the comics we're getting in this week is Demonwars Demon Awakens #2. The first issue of this series came out 1/17. I believe that this one is published by Devil's Due and it was solicited in January, so there's a good chance it is a bit late.

Now I'd like to note that Justice League of America #8 (DC Comics) is actually a couple of weeks late too - even though it is coming out only a couple of weeks after the prior issue. But the series ran into some lateness a couple of issues back, and now has to get back on schedule to match up with the Justice Society crossover as well as Countdown. Similar situation with BattlestarGalactica #8 (D. E.). Moon Knight #9 (Marvel) was solicited back in November so it technically should have shown up sometime in January, making it fairly late, although it hasn't gone over six weeks between these last two issues.

What I'm reading:
52 WEEK #50
ANITA BLAKE VH GUILTY PLEASURES #6 (OF 12)
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA #8
BIRDS OF PREY #105
BRAVE AND THE BOLD #3
DMZ #18
FALLEN ANGEL IDW #15
JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #8
MANHUNTER #30
MIGHTY AVENGERS #2
SPIRIT #5
WORLD WAR III PART ONE A CALL TO ARMS
WORLD WAR III PART TWO THE VALIANT
WORLD WAR III PART THREE HELL IS FOR HEROES
WORLD WAR III PART FOUR UNITED WE STAND
X-FACTOR #18

Here's another tidbit - we have a contact over at DC who informed us that while Newsarama reported that readers should read 52 first and then the World War 3 comics, it is actually the opposite. Look over last week's 52 (week 49) then read the World War 3's and then 52 Week #50.

He also said that this week's Brave and the Bold is AWESOME - but that's a separate issue. Oh, and the Countdown story has actually already started, but we don't know it yet - well now you do.
