Excitement Today

Earlier today we had a few people come in and ask why the area was surrounded - literally - with police. We had no idea because we were busy putting drawer boxes together. Then we looked out the window and saw cop cars around, especially across the street by the KMart. Then a police officer came in and asked if we saw a man with a baseball cap run across the street from KMart towards our strip mall. We had not. And "man with a baseball cap" wasn't really much to go on anyway. Unfortunately the officer did not share any other details when Craig asked. We don't know height or race or anything at this point, other than the news brief we found online:

Robbery suspect sought in Waukesha

Waukesha police were searching an apartment complex on the city's south side this afternoon for a man believed to have robbed a nearby K-Mart store earlier today.

Witnesses said the man fled south from the K-Mart, on Sunset Ave. near East Ave., and dropped a sweatshirt and handgun at the entryway to an apartment in the 1400 block of Big Bend Road.

Several police officers were on the scene at about 4:30 p.m.

No other details about the robbery were available.

Of course being business owners we don't like hearing that a man in the area is robbing local businesses. NEVER a good thing! Hopefully they catch him - soon.

Wow, exciting and scarey at the same time. Hopefully they give a better description of this guy soon, so that local business owners can keep and eye out for this thug, if he's not caught soon.

Might be best to keep some form of "protection" in your shop until the word comes down this scumbag has been nabbed by the authorites, Lisa. I hope you guys don't get hit, either.
