DC November Solicits - my opinions

I’ve looked over the DC solicitations for November that finally came on-line and here’s what I think.

First impressions – WAY too many min-series: after a quick count I found 21 mini-series and one-shot comics in the main DC line. That’s not counting any Wildstorm or Vertigo titles. 5 of these begin with the word “Countdown” and are not part of the “Countdown” weekly series. Four are #1 issues of new minis, non of the existing minis end with this solicitation, and all of the rest are either mid-series issues or one-shots.

WHY are there three issues of JLA Classified being solicited but I don’t see a single issue of Justice Society of America???

Looks like Christos Gage is writing 80% of the Wildstorm titles (this is not an exact percentage, but he’s writing a lot of them).

None of the action figures are very appealing to me.

Comics that look good: GREEN ARROW/BLACK CANARY #2; CRIME BIBLE: THE FIVE LESSONS OF BLOOD #2; INFINITY INC. #3; DETECTIVE COMICS #838; BIRDS OF PREY #112; THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD #8; JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #15; TEEN TITANS #53; THE SPIRIT #12; WONDER WOMAN #14; WONDER GIRL #3; JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED #39; WELCOME TO TRANQUILITY #12; DMZ #25; FABLES #67; JACK OF FABLES #17; Y: THE LAST MAN #59

Both the Heroes hard cover and the first issue of the World of Warcraft comic are in there – right before Christmas – can’t be an accident. Both should be fairly popular.
