It's looking more and more like DC's killing off, or at least sending away, Bart. I just saw on Newsarama that Flash: The Fastest Man Alive #13 will be the final issue of the series. Now, let me add that this was particularly shocking considering the fact that we've placed orders for issues 14 & 15.
DC then plans to restart The Flash this fall with Mark Waid as the writer and Daniel Acuna doing the pencils. The new series will eliminate the "The Fastest Man Alive" portion of the title, going back to the original title of just plain "The Flash" and also return to the original numbering, so instead of #1 we'll be at #231.
Waid says of the final issue of Flash, the Fastest Man Alive: "Those who pick up the last issue of Flash: The Fastest Man Alive next week will get a big part of it there, and those who pick up the end of the Justice League/Justice Society team-up the same day, when it ships, will get another gigantic part of the puzzle right there too. And then we just continue the momentum from there. We talked about a million ways to go with it, but this is going to be huge. It's really, truly huge."
Well, we'll see if it's Captain America #25 huge or New Avengers #31 huge next week - I'm hoping it's closer to Cap #25 because we ordered a TON of it. The good part is (and Marvel, I hope your listening because you need to hear this) they offered retailers FULL RETURNABILITY on the issue as long as we met their minimum buy-in requirements. If it really IS this big then I'm guessing those of us who took DC up on their offer will be glad we did because we'll have plenty of issues. And if it isn't as big as all this hype, then at least those of us who met the requirements can send our unsold extras back. It's one thing to hype a book, it's one thing to have a big event happen, it's another thing to keep the event a big secret but still encourage retailers to stock up, and it's a GREAT thing when you can do all of those things and still stand behind your comics by offering returnability.

I wouldn't worry too much about the fate of Bart Allen considering the person who'll be taking over the relaunch co-created Bart Allen. :)
Technically speaking, that writer doesn't kill flashes. He just sends them into the Great Beyond and brings them back every year.
So, the concensus is that Bart won't die. He might vanish, or head into the speed force for a while or travel to one of the 52+ earths, but he won't die.
