The Comic Industry Looses A Great Artist

Comic book artist Mike Wieringo died of a heart problem on Sunday. He was only 44 years old, and seemingly healthy. This is an unfortunate loss for the comic book industry. Everyone who ever met him says he was a really nice, down-to-earth guy.

The above picture (courtesy of fellow blogger Jimsmash) is just a sample of some of the great covers Wieringo did during his too-short life.

Wikipedia has a biography for Mike Wieringo here. Unlike many comic artists who started in the early 1990's, he stuck with the industry. He updated his website (now closed down) frequently and was always glad to talk to a fan.
