What you've Been Waiting For

Here we are again ALREADY with a new What You've Been Waiting For. This one is early because we're leaving for Baltimore tomorrow EARLY and won't get back until late Tuesday. Which means that this might even be my last post before I get back.

Anyway, in this post you will find out what comic books coming out on Sept. 12th have gone 7 or more weeks between the new issue and the previous one. Many are late, some are not, but either way, you've been waiting a while for them.

July 25th was my cutoff date for this week. Two comics coming out on the 12th hit that date, both published by Marvel. They are: Heroes for Hire #13 and Spider-Man Fairy Tales #4.

Lone Ranger #8 (Dynamite Entertainment) comes out on Wednesday. The previous issue came out July 18th.

I'm so disappointed that DC can't seem to get 100 Bullets out on time anymore. After 80 issues you'd think they'd have it down to a science, but apparently that's not the case. 100 Bullets #85 (DC) comes out Sept. 12th, and the prior issue hit on July 11th.

Loners #5 and Ultimate Power #7 will be coming out on the 12th. Both had their previous issues hit the comic racks back on July 5th. And Both are published by Marvel.

Moon Knight, Moon Knight, where have you been? Finally on Wednesday we'll be seeing another issue of the long lost Mr. Spector. Moon Knight #12 (Marvel) is coming, and #11 came out almost 3 months back, on June 20th.

Noble Causes #31 (Image) and Trials of Shazam #8 (DC) can both be found at a comic book store near you this coming Wednesday. And both comics had their previous issues arrive in stores back on June 13th.

Se7en #6 Envy (Zenescope) Is one of those comic titles that makes me nuts - every issue has a different word in it - the seven deadly sins, each named. Sounds cool, but my computer doesn't get it! Grrr. It thinks every issue is a different comic because each has a different title. This makes ordering and pulling for subscribers a big pain! Anyway, this one comes out on the 12th, and the previous issue came out WAY back on May 16th.

Looks like the "Big Two" were serious offenders in the late comics game this week!

I also decided to add a new segment here where I list the Marvel and DC comic mini series & one shots that are starting and ending. I am of the belief that in the coming months those two publishers will have started more minis than they ended.

This week's ending minis for the Big Two:
  • Fantastic Five #5 (of 5) - Marvel
  • Spider-Man Fairy Tales #4 (of 4) – Marvel
This week's starting minis and 1-shots from the Big Two:
  • Countdown Search for Ray Palmer Wildstorm #1 (what IS this anyway? A series of one-shots, all with different names? Grrr...) - DC
  • Friday the 13th Summer Vacation #1 (of 2) - DC
  • JLA Wedding Special - DC
  • Suicide Squad Raise the Flag #1 (of 8) - DC
  • Wonder Girl #1 (of 6) - DC
  • X-Men Emperor Vulcan #1 (of 5) - Marvel
Good job to Marvel, who is ending two minis and only starting one. But DC, you will notice, is ending NONE, has two one-shots and 3 new minis starting. Overall this week, a net gain of 4 titles. Looks like the comic racks are getting pretty jam packed!
