What you've Been Waiting For

Welcome once again to my mostly weekly installment of What You've Been Waiting For. In this post I look at my invoice and look at when the previous issues arrived. Anything that we're expecting to receive that has taken longer than 7 weeks between issues goes here. Some of these are late, some just have gaps between issues. It's a pretty short list this week.

Two comics made my cut-off this week of July 25th. Sheena #3 (Devil's Due) and Testament #19 (DC -Vertigo) both come out tomorrow, and both saw their previous issues come out back on July 25th.

Madman Atomic Comics #4 (Image) comes out tomorrow. Issue #3 was on shelves back on July 11.

Ex Machina #30 (DC - Vertigo) should show up in your local comic book store tomorrow. The previous issue came out back on June 20. This issue was solicited in July, so it probably isn't overly late, but there are these big gaps between issues. Three months from issue to issue seems kind of long. But I guess DC is willing to give these "big names" some leeway because they've got TV shows like "Lost" to write.

And finally, the largest of large gaps, the longest of long delays, the latest of all late comics (this was ordered back in May) is Jack Kirby's Galactic Bounty Hunters #6 (Marvel). The previous issue of this one came out over 6 months ago, back on March 14th. I wonder when this is ending, because we're thinking of canceling our orders on future issues. Marvel doesn't care about this series, why should I?

I also decided to add a new segment here where I list the Marvel and DC comic mini series & one shots that are starting and ending. I am of the belief that in the coming months those two publishers will have started more minis than they ended.

That's a pretty hefty list of new mini/one-shot stuff, especially considering that it is a fairly small week. Looks like this week we're up 4 comics again, with five new ones starting and only one ending. The racks continue to get more and more crowded.
