No More Monthly for Blade of the Immortal
According to "Ain't It Cool News," the monthly comic series "Blade of the Immortal" will be ending next month, with issue #131. The series started back in 1996 and while it is a Japanese property, it was not only translated to english, but the art was also changed so that it flowed from left to right, instead of the traditional Japanese format of right to left. The sales numbers on Blade had dropped to less than half of it's original numbers, and were just over 3,000 with issue #128. It is published in America by Dark Horse. In 2000 the series won an Eisner Award for Best U.S. edition of Foreign Material.
It does sound like, from reading the article, that the Blade story will continue in graphic novels. So fear not, fans of Blade of the Immortal. The editor says he doesn't know what kind of release schedule there will be for the trades, so you will have to have some patience.
